The Phantom was Weak!
The performance over all is the problem, not the show itself! A majority of these so-called professional actors get rather lazy, not giving it their 100% at all times. The only strong acting/singing was the Phantom himself in this performance! A passionate cry and emotion for love lost was experienced by all who saw his performance. That Handsome Devil, who moved me to tears at the end of Act 1, deserves kudos and thanks. Otherwise, I could have done without the lazy performance of the rest of these professional actors. I have seen this musical opera at least six times from New York to LA, and I have not been more disappointed in a show since Lion King.
